- Wednesday 5th January(Indoor shots)
- Thursday 6th January(Outdoor shots)
- Sunday 9th January(Outdoor shots)
The indoor shots were really sucessful, and there were some things we added in:
- As Christmas has just passed we decided that when we filmed the shot of the messed up dinning room we would use the christmas tree. We chucked it on the floor and had baubles all over the floor. Also we hadn the angel that going on top of the tree on the floor. We had a close up and an exstreme close up of the angel and it's vunerable face. We decided to do this as the vunerability of it's face and the good things angels represent contrast well with the horrible, dark atmosphere the film causes.
- In the shot of the kitchen we also smashed some eggs on the floor, and had some baking ingreadients out on the worktop. This shows that Elle was cooking and then went out in a hurry. This makes the film more realistic, and this is why we decided to have food everywhere.
- When we done the shots of Elle getting hurt because Samantha was playing with the Voodoo doll, we decided to do lots of different ones, to give ourselves more choice when choosing which ones to use for the real film; punched in back, poked in chest, pulled by the arm, stranggled, and crushed stomuchWe used lots of different angles and types of shots for this to make sure the shots we use are varied.
We also added in more shots outside:
- Originally we were only going to have shots of a few missing posters, but we decided that if every now and then we added in another missing poster on top of the old ones, this would really emphasize that people missing was a main theme in the film. This will cause the audience to wonder wehat is causing the people to become missing.
- We also decided that we needed a variation of backgrouds behind Samantha when she is walking to the bus stop, therefore we decided to get there by going a different route. We used a variation of different shots to show her walking towards the bus stop, because we felt this was a better way of creatying suspence, than just using the usual tracking shot.
- We filmed two sets of shots when filming Samantha with the Voodoo doll.; We wanted to keep our options open when showing her attacking the doll, and this means we can pick and choose from them later.
- We decided we would add an aspect to the storyline. We decided that Samantha would ring a random female up and then get the Voodoo doll from her. This meant that we added in three shots; a birds eye shot of the female handing Samantha the doll, a over the shoulder shot of the phone box number pad while Samantha was dialling the number. We also changed the final shot to a tilt down shot. We had the phone swinging and then the doll just laying on the floor. We felt this was a key shot to add in because it would a good end to the beginning of the film. As the piece we have filmed is just the start, then the screen would go black and the film would start. The technique we have used is putting the end first. We have already sumed up the whole film, and the audience already know who has died and the two main characters. So the rest of the fil will be informing them how it happened through clues.
